Functions of Academic Support Services:In Enam Medical College academic support is provided by the Student Support Centres, which include: Phase coordinators, mentors/counselors, and administrative staff. These services offer a range of help, from academic guidance and tutoring to psychological support and career counseling. Academic Advising & Student Guidance • Provide academic counseling to students.• Assist students in course planning and understanding MBBS curriculum structure.• Identify students with academic difficulties and provide remedial plans.• Support career planning and professional development. Teaching–Learning Support • Provide resources for effective teaching (e.g., lecture halls, multimedia, simulation labs).• Organize tutorial classes, revision sessions, and supplementary teaching.• Facilitate small-group learning, problem-based learning (PBL), and skills training. Examination & Assessment Support • Organize and manage formative and summative assessments (term finals, card exams, OSPE, OSCE, etc.).• Maintain assessment records and track student progression.• Provide feedback to students on academic performance. Library & Learning Resource Center Services • Provide access to medical textbooks, journals, digital resources, and online databases.• Offer reading spaces, internet access, and printing/scanning facilities.• Support research and referencing guidance. Skills Laboratory / Simulation Lab Services • Provide hands-on training for clinical skills in a controlled environment.• Conduct OSCE practice sessions, skill demonstrations, and competency-based training.• Ensure availability of mannequins, models, and equipment. Student Welfare & Counseling Services • Offer psychological counseling and stress-management support.• Provide support for personal, social, or financial difficulties.• Promote student well-being and safety. Research & Academic Development Support • Guide students in research methodology and scientific writing.• Support data analysis, ethics applications, and project supervision.• Organize research workshops, seminars, and journal clubs. Administrative & Record-Keeping Support • Maintain academic records, attendance, exam results, and registration documents.• Coordinate with BMDC and university authorities for student affairs.• Manage academic calendars, notices, and schedules. Career Placement & Internship Coordination • Assist students in securing internship placements as per BMDC regulations.• Provide orientation on internship duties and hospital rotation schedules.• Support transition from undergraduate training to professional practice. Extracurricular & Co-curricular Academic Programs • Organize academic competitions (quizzes, debates, scientific fairs).• Facilitate student participation in conferences, workshops, and medical camp activities.
